Owners Only

Our firm represents property owners exclusively. We do not represent general contractors, architects, engineers, or project managers. We are called on statewide by owners who seek advice and counsel due to construction and project issues that have arisen during or after project completion.

Property Rights

When an owner makes a commitment to a building project, inherent in that commitment is the right to have the work performed properly and in a timely manner. A failure in the process can lead to a poorly constructed project and diminished value in the property. The property rights of the owner and the integrity of the investment are often left in the dust of the contractor moving along to the next project.

Most projects are performed under documents promulgated by the American Institute of Architects. We advocate interpretations of these documents which advance the owners’ rights and interest. Our philosophy is that a lawyer should pick a side, and not play both sides of the fence. Our clients tell us they appreciate this approach.

Business and Property Owner’s Rights

As a part of the firm’s ongoing commitment to the property rights of owners we have served as amicus counsel at the Texas Supreme Court on issues critical to helping business and property owners maintain property rights. The trade groups whose members we have represented include the Texas Hospital Association, International Council of Shopping Centers, Texas Community Advocates Association, Texas Hotel and Lodging Association, Texas Association of Auto Dealers, Texas Association of Counties, Texas Municipal League, Texas Building Owners and Managers, Texas Association of School Boards and Texas Organization of Rural and Community Hospitals.
