Our firm represents property owners exclusively. We do not represent general contractors, architects, engineers, or project managers. We are called on statewide by owners who seek advice and counsel due to construction and project issues that have arisen during or after project completion.
We routinely deal with owners who have issues related to defective construction.
- Architect and engineering errors
- Defects caused by poor construction practice
Symptoms of these include:
- Water damage
- Heating, ventilation and air conditioning issues
- Poor energy performance
- Roof and window leaks
- Grading and poor drainage issues
- Product failures
- School Districts
- Apartment Complexes
- Government Housing
- HOA Communities
- Senior Living Centers
- Retail Shopping Centers
- Commercial Buildings
When an owner makes a commitment to a building project, inherent in that commitment is the right to have the work performed properly and in a timely manner. A failure in the process can lead to a poorly constructed project and diminished value in the property. The property rights of the owner and the integrity of the investment are often left in the dust of the contractor moving along to the next project.
Most projects are performed under documents promulgated by the American Institute of Architects. We advocate interpretations of these documents which advance the owners’ rights and interest. Our philosophy is that a lawyer should pick a side, and not play both sides of the fence. Our clients tell us they appreciate this approach.
